Introduction to Proton Beam Therapy Facilities Webinar
Jill Reay, Aurora’s expert on Healthcare Facility Design and Testing and Monte Carlo modelling, will be presenting a one hour introduction into the radiation protection issues that need to be considered when planning a proton beam therapy facility. The webinar will be hosted by The Society for Radiological Protection (SRP).
Aurora has first-hand experience of designing the shielding for a number of high energy proton beam therapy facilities. The webinar will outline some of the differences between the design of more traditional external beam radiotherapy facilities and proton beam facilities, and discuss some of the challenges associated with the design and use of high energy particle beam facilities.
