Aurora Power Tools Training.

15 July 2024

With the range of work Aurora undertakes it is important that all members of our team who may use, or manage projects requiring the use of, power tools understand how to safely use this equipment.

Aurora’s Site Management team led this training which provided the team with training on the relevant law (including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, the Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999 and the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005), health and safety elements (including health effects from hand-arm vibration), tool selection and capability as well as a practical session where delegates were able to try out tools under the supervision of an experienced Site Manager.

Course delegate and Trainee Radiation Protection Adviser Orneste Buitkute said: ‘It was a great day, the course gave me the opportunity to see the extensive range of tools that Aurora uses and to better understand how tools are used in operational work. The practical session was also really useful as I have never used these tools before so it has better prepared me for if I need to use tools either at work or at home in future.’

The Power Tools training session is just on aspect of ensuring safety and competency during our operational work and on the job training and supervision remains important to ensure that all work is carried out safely and professionally.
