Steve Bramley

Site Manager & Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)

Steve joined Aurora in February 2013 after working with the team as a contract surveyor for seven years. During this period, Steve has gained experience with many aspects of radiation protection from surveying to managing sites and running projects for our customers.


Steve started work for the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) in 1985 as a programmer. After moving into a support engineering role, he left Harwell in 2003 to be an IT service and operations manager with 70 staff based on AEA Technology sites around the country.

In 2006, Aurora employed Steve as a trainee health physics surveyor on a contract basis. This role grew following his Radiation Safety Practice City & Guilds qualification and continues to grow with Steve having worked on particle accelerator, cyclotron and synchrotron decommissioning projects as well as environmental, laboratory and university surveys.

Steve enjoys playing cricket for Wantage Cricket Club, watching rugby, brewing his own beer, sailing in Greece, surfing, seeing live music and spending time with his wife.
