Robert Hill

Director, Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA), Radioactive Waste Adviser (RWA) & Monte Carlo N-Particle eXtended (MCNPX) Specialist

Robert (also known as Rab) has been a Director of Aurora for over ten years, and is one of only a handful of specialists providing advice on Shielding Design and Integrity Testing (SIT).

Rab is an extremely knowledgeable and well-respected Aurora team member and not only provides RPA/RWA advice but also advises on non-ionising technical measurements ranging from optical radiation to static electromagnetic fields and waves.


After graduating with an Honours degree in Physics Rab joined the National Radiation Protection Board (NRPB) as an RPA. After 10 years with NRPB Rab joined AEA Technology Nuclear Engineering, which became RWE NUKEM. He has many years’ experience as an RPA in both the nuclear and non-nuclear/industrial sectors.

In 2003 Rab set up his own RPA consultancy and a year later, in 2004, joined Aurora.

Rab is married and has two young sons with whom he enjoys walking and cycling with, along with painting, drawing and woodwork.
