Aurora was delighted to support this year’s Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair, held on 17 to 19 June 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham. The event welcomed thousands of students for three days of hands-on workshops, interactive activities, and exciting live shows — all designed to ignite curiosity and inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.

Orneste Buitkute, one of Aurora’s trainees, volunteered at the Society for Radiological Protection (SRP) stand, engaging students with Aurora’s popular CT Chocolate Game. This interactive activity challenged students to identify different types of chocolate based on their CT images. The game drew a crowd and sparked plenty of enthusiastic conversations about science, technology, and the role of ionising radiation in everyday life.

Overall, the event was a great success, with high levels of engagement and interest. Aurora in collaboration with SRP were delighted to have contributed to such a vibrant and inspiring fair, and we look forward to supporting more outreach initiatives that help shape the future of science and engineering.
