I joined Aurora when I was looking for a change and to move away from the managerial and technical areas that were becoming more prevalent in my work. The aim being to return to a focus on where I started my working life within health physics and radiation protection.  Having heard some good things about Aurora in the community I felt that they would be a good fit for those opportunities.

There are so many great things about working at Aurora. The first is the people, a great team of like minded and friendly individuals and with us still being a small part within the larger RSK group means the willingness of the team to pitch in and help whenever needed both in the work environment and also on a personal basis.

The variability of the work not knowing if next month, you will doing a critical examination on a linear accelerator, supporting the outage at a nuclear plant, completing a radiation survey on contaminated land, size reducing contaminated pipework in an air hood or preparing a transport radiation risk assessment. Or indeed all of these.

The flexibility and confidence of the management in the individuals who work at Aurora and the awareness that though results are important the journey you take to get there is just as important. This coupled with the fact that staff have the independence and flexibility to set their own work schedules (within reason of course) and work at their preferred location whether that be in the office or working from home.

And finally the pride of knowing that you are working for one of best providers of radiation protection advice not only in the UK but in the World.
