Adam Scott presents at the National Radon Forum 2024.
Last week the Aurora Team attended the National Radon Forum at the UKHSA in Chilton, Harwell. The Forum brought together leading experts from a wide range of sectors including, but not limited to, remediation, mitigation, construction, personal dosimetry and radiation policy to provide attendees with an insight of ongoing radon safety issues, and an opportunity to ask questions in the Q&A session. The Forum also sparked great discussions about current challenges with radon detection and consultancy.
Aurora’s Adam Scott gave a talk on the “Application of IRR17 in Radon Atmospheres”. The presentation invited various discussion points covering many different areas relating to radon management, testing, dosimetry and remediation.
Other speakers including radon remediation experts and regulators (as seen in the Figure below) covered a variety of radon-related topics including thought-provoking case studies and challenges that arise when advising clients on radon compliance in the workplace.
In summary, it was a great day to network and learn more about promoting a proactive radon safety culture!
